Chateau Lascombes Margaux Grand Cru Classe 2009
Size: 750 ml     SKU: CRFR-R-4001

New Arrival

Chateau Pontet Canet '5eme Cru Classe" 2009 RP100
Size: 750 ml     SKU: GCFR-R-9005

Varietals: Cabernet Sauvignon (65%) Merlot (30%) Cabernet Franc (4%) Petit Verdot (1%)

Professional Review: "An amazing wine in every sense, this classic, full-bodied Pauillac is the quintessential Pontet Canet from proprietor Alfred Tesseron, who continues to reduce yields and farms his vineyards biodynamically – a rarity in Bordeaux. Black as a moonless night, the 2009 Pontet Canet offers up notes of incense, graphite, smoke, licorice, creme de cassis and blackberries. A wine of irrefutable purity, laser-like precision, colossal weight and richness, and sensational freshness, this is a tour de force in winemaking that is capable of lasting 50 or more years. The tannins are elevated, but they are sweet and beautifully integrated as are the acidity, wood and alcohol (which must be in excess of 14%). This vineyard, which is situated on the high plateau of Pauillac adjacent to Mouton Rothschild, appears to have done everything perfectly in 2009. This cuvee should shut down in the cellar and re-open in a decade or more. Anticipated maturity: 2025-2075." Robert Parker 100pts

Chateau Palmer "3eme Cru Classe" Margaux 2006 RP92
Size: 750 ml     SKU: GCFR-R6-9004

Varietals: Cabernet Sauvignon: 56%, Merlot: 44%

Professional Reviews: Wine Enthusiast 94pts- "A big, brooding wine, the fruit ripe and dense. Richness surrounds structure, giving a sumptuous layer to the dusty tannins. Flavors of currants, spice and juicy berries flow through the wine, giving power and suavity. The freshness of 2006 shows on the finish of this important wine."

Wine Spectator 93pts - "Coffee, plum and spices on the nose follow through to a full body, with lovely fruit and a soft, silky-textured finish. Very balanced and beautiful, with lots of violet, new wood and richness. Long. Needs time. Best after 2015."

Chateau Malescot St. Exupery Margaux 2012 RP93
Size: 750 ml     SKU: GCFR-R6-9008

Varietals: Cabernet Sauvignon (50%) Merlot (35%) Cabernet Franc (10%) Petit Verdot (5%)

Vinfication: Vinified in a combination of 22 temperature controlled, concrete vats and stainless steel tanks. These are divided into 6 concrete vats and 16 tanks of stainless steel that range in size from 80 hectoliters up to 160 hectoliters. The wine of Chateau Malescot St. Exupery is aged in between 80% new and 100% new, French oak barrels for between 14 to 16 months. Malolactic fermentation takes place in either tank, vat, barrel, or a combination of any of those vessels. The decision is left up to the vintage according to Jean Luc Zuger.

Professional Review: "This is distinctive, with a roasted alder streak running through an enticing core of crushed plum, blackberry and black currant confiture flavors. Long and velvety on the finish, with bay, tobacco and black tea accents checking in. This is suave, with fruit and terroir in spades, particularly for the vintage. Best from 2017 through 2025"- Wine Spectator 93pts

Chateau Poujeaux "Cru Classe" Moulis en Medoc 2010 RP90
Size: 750 ml     SKU: GCFR-R-9003

Varietals: Cabernet Sauvignon (48%) Merlot (45%) remaining split between Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc

The Process: The vinification takes place with full berries in small tanks. Aged for 12 months in 30-40% new French oak under the consultancy of Stéphane Derenoncourt

Professional Review: " The final blend in this vintage was 48% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Merlot and the rest Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc, tipping the scales at 14% natural alcohol. The wine is outstanding. Rich black raspberry and black currant fruit intermixed with some graphite and floral notes are followed by an opulent, fleshy, full-bodied wine with impressive concentration, texture and length. Moreover, the 2010 can be drunk early on in life or cellared for 15 or more years." -Robert Parker's Wine Advocate-90pts

St Emilion Chateau Bellevue 2012 RP91-93
Size: 750 ml     SKU: GCFR-R6-9007

Varietals: Merlot (98%) Cabernet Franc (2%)

Tasting Notes: This wine is showing quite nicely, it pops with notes of truffle, licorice, blackberries and stone off the nose. While being full of ripe, sweet plum fruit flavors showing fantastic depth; it also hints at subtle, soft tannins from French oak, ending with a refreshing, succulent finish.

St Emilion Chateau Angelus "1er Grand Cru Classe" 2011 RP94
Size: 750 ml     SKU: GCFR-R6-9002

Varietals: Merlot (60%) Cabernet Franc (40%)

Professional Review: A great success for proprietor Hubert de Bouard, the 2011 Angelus came in at 14.5% natural alcohol (keep in mind that this is supposedly a challenging vintage - and it was), and 75% of the production made it into the top label. The remainder was declassified into a second label or was sold off in bulk. Yields were a low 30 hectoliters per hectare, and the final blend was 60% Merlot and 40% Cabernet Franc. The color is a typical dense blue/purple, and the nose offers up wonderful notes of black raspberries, blueberries, flowers, vanillin and spice box. With authority, velvety tannin, good extract and glycerin, this rich, pure, beautifully textured St.-Emilion should drink well for 20+ years.- Wine Advocate/Parker

Pomerol Chateau Clos L'Eglise "Cru Classe" 2012 RP90
Size: 750 ml     SKU: GCFR-R-9001

Varietals: Merlot (80%) Cabernet Franc (20%)

Vinification: Takes place in six 55 hectoliter, insulated, stainless steel tanks, which replaced oak vats for the 2012 vintage. Malolactic fermentation takes place in 100% new French oak barreis and aged between 16 and 18 months. Roughly 1,200 cases are produced every year.

Professional Review: Robert Parker: "The 2012 Clos l'Eglise is a beautiful blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc from Hélène Garcin (whose family owns Barde-Haut, Branon and Haut-Bergey, as well as the Malbec producer in Argentina called Poesia). She has done a phenomenal job at this estate since the late 1990s. Rich, chunky, coffee, mocha and berry fruit jump from the glass of this medium-bodied wine that shows excellent fruit intensity, soft tannins and a juicy, round, mouthfeel. Drink it over the next 10-15 years." - Robert M. Parker Jr.
